Affordable Acupuncture Plus started out as a “Community Acupuncture” clinic. Meaning acupuncture, offered on a sliding fee scale. It has evolved into a multi-faceted treatment centre, also offering Registered Massage Therapy and Reflexology and Reiki.
Many folks who would benefit from supportive treatment, find it difficult to afford the fees.
Especially those who do not have work-place health insurance.
In this style of treatment, we keep our treatments brief and simple.
We are all in one large open room, treating multiple people at the same time. We ask people to wear loose or stretchy clothing that will roll up to the knees and elbows, so we can access the areas to be treated. Tank tops are ideal for many of our treatments.
You are welcome to bring a blanket and slippers.
All covid precautions are followed.

The theory behind reflexology is that areas or zones on the hands and feet correspond to the organs and systems of the body.
Pressure and massage applied to these zones can help to bring relaxation and healing to the corresponding area of the body.
According to The Mayo Clinic, several studies indicate that reflexology can help with pain management, and other psychological symptoms, such as stress, anxiety and sleep quality. Jeannette is also well versed in meridian and acupressure theories and will incorporate those theories into her treatments.
Reiki, pronounced “ray-key,” means “Universal Life Energy.” This form of touch therapy promotes relaxation and health. It is a non-invasive technique based on the traditional Eastern principle that balancing Ki (life energy) boosts natural healing. Reiki helps the body to work more efficiently.
During a Reiki session, the practitioner channels energy through the gentle resting of hands on or slightly above the client. The client remains fully clothed. Most people report sensations of heat, tingling, or coolness along with deep relaxation. The benefits of a session include stress reduction, alleviation of physical complaints and a sense of spiritual and emotional well-being. Clients report feeling the energy moving through and around their body during a session. Some will even fall into a deep, relaxed sleep.

Acupuncture is traditionally offered in small group sessions in many places around the world.
At Affordable Acupuncture, we treat several people at the same time in a large room.
We seat people in comfortable reclining chairs like those shown in the Photo Gallery below.
An experienced acupuncturist can quickly evaluate what points will help you to feel better. We will start your treatment, get you set up in your chair and move on to the next person. We repeat the process with the next person, and come back to you to remove your needles after you have rested for 20 to 30 minutes.
We will be near by if you need anything.
Affordable Acupuncture and community acupuncture clinics usually offer needles only.
It is true. Offering treatments at a reduced rate is a little more challenging for therapists. We are fortunate that The Shelldale Centre gives us a little bit of a break on our rent.
We try to keep our treatment options simple and we hope to see multiple people per hour. So please tell your friends!
We also hope to expand and have multiple practitioners working together, so we can share the rent expenses.
Our minimum fee is $20. We hope this makes acupuncture affordable for almost everyone, but our clinic is not strictly for low income folks.
We know there are many people who might be able to offer us a little more per treatment, and we will happily accept whatever people can manage.
Some people might even have health insurance benefits, but they have used them up and are limiting their treatments because of this. Now they can come to the affordable clinic and continue their care.

Acupuncture works by balancing the body and relaxing the nervous system. Relaxing the nervous system will always help to relieve pain, reduce muscle tension and make you feel better!
We do not always need to work directly on the affected area to help with your pain.
In fact, sometimes it is better for us to work away from the pain, as working directly over the area can cause it to become aggravated.
You will be surprised how much relief you can get with our model of care.
Especially in these times, we have to be extra careful to keep things clean and safe for everyone.
